This stay was a breath of fresh air! The hotel was lovely, accommodating, and relaxing/quiet. I had a jacuzzi tub, a free bottle of wine, breakfast included, the room was spacious and clean. Housekeeping staff was absolutely lovely and helpful, and the laundry was a $20 flat fee to do a large bag of things (this was a great deal). They cleaned everything and brought it back to me in just a few hours! I asked for bathrobes and a late check out, and they helped me with both. I can’t wait to stay here again in the future! It is definitely worth the money.

Decent hotel
The room was a decent size. The toilet made the loudest noises when flushing. Also, for a spa hotel the towels and linens are pretty basic quality.

This was one of many great finds during my week-long visit to Newfoundland. The day I arrived, I was so thrilled to have found this gem on an inn. The check-in experience was pleasant, and I warmly greeted by the front desk staff who empathized with the fact that my suitcase ended up on a later flight than the one I had taken. The in-room jacuzzi was also phenomenal, as was the incredibly comfortable king-sized bed. The hotel had been beautifully renovated and is so incredibly peaceful throughout. While the free breakfast options were astonishingly limited, the dining area where meals were served was also very pleasant and welcoming. When I returned to St. John's later in the week, I decided I'd try the JAG hotel -- which had also been well-reviewed, just to have a different experience. Without going into all the details, let me just say I deeply regretted not returning to the Monastery Hotel, and its serene oasis-like ambience. Next time I visit Newfoundland, I know exactly where I'll be staying, and it's right here.

Quiet, large rooms with great, giant king bed. Jacuzzi right beside the bedside worked great before sleep. Wonderful, helpful staff. A short 10 min walk from the downtown eateries; beware there are very few shops, it is not like a typical NA capital downtown. Free breakfast was FANTASTIC tasting, with outdoor or indoor seating available. Just an amazing stay. The scent of rosemary greeted you upon entry. Incredible.

We would certainly recommend this Hotel any day and would return. Clean, comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast served by very nice staff.
